Large French Hunting Lodge Game Paintings, Set of 4
About the Item
A set of four large scale French School still life paintings, each with a game animal: rabbit, pheasant, deer and rooster centered in a trompe l'oiel architectural niche surrounded by fruits and flowers, two with large blue garden urns. These are decorative wall panels that were removed from a hunting lodge in Languedoc. Each in varying condition, all with some paint loss, craquelure and surface dirt and in need of restoration.
Three are signed: A. Gros and dated 1908 and 1909
Oil on canvas with original oak frames.
