About

Modernist mixed media painting of a standing nude by listed artist William Fredericksen (1914-2010). Originally from Norway he moved to Chicago with his designer mother where he studied at the New Bauhaus School at the Chicago Institute of Design in 1946 with such Bauhaus Masters as Lazlo Moholy-Nagy and Alexander Archipenko. His strong American Bauhaus roots are very evident in his lifetime body of work. Work features a new custom aged silver leaf frame and an acid free matte. This piece is new to the market from his private collection and portfolio.

"Fredericksen's appeal is based half on a rich color sense, half on a highly developed sense of design". Art Digest 1949.
