A dynamic and expressive depiction of horses, painted in watercolour and gouache on paper. Art work dimensions: 44.5 x 58.5 cm. Signed with monogram and dated ’54 in the lower margin. Beautifully presented in a gilded wooden frame with glass and a matching passepartout. Nikolaus Wehding was a Danish visual artist whose work is celebrated for its bold use of color and fluid, energetic line. Active throughout much of the 20th century, Wehding often drew inspiration from nature, animals, and movement. His preferred mediums included watercolor, gouache, and printmaking, all of which he used to create works marked by vitality, rhythm, and a strong sense of composition.
