Very beautiful oil on canvas depicting a still life "the bouquet of flowers in a pitcher on a red background". Completely cleaned with respect and craftsmanship. Perfectly highlighted in a very beautiful American case. Period: 20th century Dimensions: H: 73 x W: 50cm Signed lower right Albert Deman, born in January 1929, in Bousbecque, municipality of the North, just separated from Belgium by the river La Lys, is still quite a kid when with his parents and his sister, he is thrown on the roads of the exodus. However, he has already had time to be noticed by the members of a drawing academy in Roubaix who made him the winner of their competition. In 1945, he studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lille, and at that of Nantes in 1946. After 1971, he settled in La Rochelle. He appears in Paris at the Salon des Peintres, witnesses of their time from 1957 to 1960. He divides his work into periods: from 1956 to 1957, it is the so-called Chicago period, from 1971 to 1972, pear tree period, 1978, period “Mobilist”, 1979 to 1983, pastel period, 1984, copper engraving period, 1984-85, Maghreb period. Thus, Albert Deman's production can be divided stylistically. In a period encompassing his 1950s, he was influenced by Carzou's clawed mannerism and even in the choice of scenes: Bruges-La Rochelle. In the years 1960-70, the writing is more moderate. Finally, in the 1980s, and especially in the Maghreb period, his natural skill was unleashed in very colorful watercolors whose subjects merge to the limit of lyrical abstraction. It is referenced in Bénézit (reference dictionary of painters, sculptors, designers and engravers from around the world launched in 1911 in Paris). His career as a painter got off to a flying start. Very quickly his paintings were found in the largest Parisian galleries before spinning around the world. His immense gift for pastel was also quickly noticed and acclaimed.
