About the Item
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Kay Eddy was an art major at the University of Wichita and University of Illinois, and also studied at the North Shore Art League, Chicago, the New School for Social Research and Pratt Contemporary Graphics Workshop in New York. She served as Director of the Abbey Gallery at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin until her departure for New York. She has had five one man shows since 1965. Her work has received numerous awards, including four First Place Awards ( one Best of Show in the Milwaukee Invitational Art Festival) and two awards in the Audubon Artists Annual Exhibitions.Her work has been included in many national exhibitions including the Audubon Artists Annuals, Chautauqua, N.Y. Art Association National, Art Institute of Chicago, New Horizons in Painting Annual, Illinois State Museum, 19th North Mississippi Valley Artists Invitational, Butler Institute of American Art Annuals, Society of the Four Arts 28th Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Painting ( Palm Beach Florida), Old Orchard Invitational Art Festival (Chicago, Ill.), Pratt Contemporary Graphic Centers Annual Juried Print Exhibition, Westchester Art Society Annuals, and New Rochelle Annual, and "Dialogue" ( a group show) at the Kwok Wai Lau Gallery in Los Angeles, Calif.
