Original oil on canvas painting outside the walls of Basilica San Lorenzo in Rome. Signed and dated "E. P. St. Lorentso fuori le mura Roma 1886."
Exhibited at the international art show in Charlottenborg(Queen's Palace), Denmark 1916. Foreningen for National Kunst, Index of works by Professor Edvard Petersen”, 1916 no. 238.
Edvard Petersen (4 February 1841 – 5 December 1911) was a Danish painter. He also designed the Stork Fountain on Amagertorv in Copenhagen.
Condition: Age related craquelure throughout. Canvas may benefit from a light surface cleaning which we leave to discretion of the buyer. Frame shows typical age related nicks, scratches, minor stains, etc.
