About the Item
A captivating and beautiful original oil on canvas painting depicting the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France seen from the back and the Seine in the foreground and to the right. The light is that of early evening, just before nightfall. It is one of those painting that changes depending on how it is lit: in the sun, the colors are soft; in the shade, it looks as if the sun has just set.
Unsigned and unattributed. We are of the opinion that the painting dates possibly to the late 19th and most certainly the very early 20th century.
The painting is on its original high quality canvas and is professionally framed.
Very good condition consistent with materials and age. Has been restored by a reputable professional that has brought special paintings back to life for us.
