Signed Gouache on paper circa 1975.
French artist Guidette Carbonell (1910-2008) expressed herself in different ways : sculptures, ceramics, tapestries and paints.
Birds, and owls in particular, were one of his favorite subjects.
this paint is part of a unique series of 25 differents owls, this one is numbered in pencil 7/25.
This gouache is framed in wood and protected by anti-reflective glass.

Guidette Carbonell has had a long carrier, meeting and colaborating with a lot artists an decorators : Ceramist Llorens Artigas and decorator Jacques Adnet... At the salon d'Automne in 1928, she exhibited with leading french ceramists such as Emile Decoeur, Jacques Mayodon, Delaerche... in the 50's she rubbed shoulders the Abstract painters of the Ecole de Paris. She continued to work on various projects with architects such as Pierre Vago, creating large-scale murals. From the 60's to the 80's, she created her famous Harpies in assembled fabric.
Throughout her artistic life, Guidette Carbonell drew with an ever-renewed and joyful imagination.
