About the Item
A pair of vintage French watercolor paintings by Roger Caillete, one figurative and one landscape, they are set within matching gilt frames allowing them to be displayed together or separately to contemplate each one’s unique perspective and technique. In the first work, simply titled “Two Women Sitting in a Park” the human subjects are partially obscured by a tree which puts the focus on the tranquility of the lush & green setting more so than portraiture. In the picturesque “Late Afternoon at Barsac”, the fleeting sunlight illuminates the terracotta roofs of the small French village surrounded by hills and vineyards. Please view the detailed images.
