About the Item

A unique and most decorative pair of Italian early 19th century Neapolitan Neo-Classical st. gouaches in Walnut and Giltwood frames. Each colorful gouache is of a landscape fishing scene with various male and female figures conversing and enjoying their day. The gouaches are framed within fanciful Walnut and Giltwood frames and are flanked by two vertical recessed panels with foliate Giltwood urns. The top and bottom of the frames are elegantly decorated by central Giltwood scrolled crests with studs. On each end of the frames are wonderful Giltwood palmettes extending outwards.
