About the Item
Oil on canvas portrait of bearded man.
Refined portrait probably depicting, given the simple clothes, a man of humble origins with a thick beard.
The portrait is unfortunately unsigned but from the canvas it can be placed in the late 19th century.
Note the care with which the complexion and facial wrinkles were executed.
The painting is in good state of preservation, as can be seen from the back of the painting the canvas is applied on board.
