About the Item
Pair of paintings by landscape painter Henry Markó.
No. 2 oil paintings on canvas depicting landscape scenes.
One depicting a forested dirt path traveled by a character in the distance. In the background on the left is a waterfall that flows into a river parallel to the trail.
The second, on the other hand, depicts rural houses surrounded by greenery with a small lake adjacent; here, too, one can appreciate a character walking on a dirt path.
The country view has the large, gray city surrounded by mountains as a backdrop.
Henry Markò is a painter son of 'art, his father Charles Markò the elder was a Hungarian painter who moved to Florence where he founded an art school where the most advanced painting techniques are taught in the field of modern landscape painting.
Born in florence in 1855 Henry followed in his father's footsteps by specializing in landscape painting, in fact his production includes numerous wooded landscapes, city views and rare seascapes of the Ligurian Riviera, where he would move, specifically to the town of Lavagna, in the latter part of his life.
The paintings are both signed and are in excellent state of preservation.
