About the Item
Rudolf Kämmer (1935-2021)
Untitled, acrylic on canvas Verso signed on stretcher
Signed: Rudolf Kämmer and dated: 1971 (black fibre pencil)
Rudolf Kämmer belonged to the representatives of Optical Art (Op Art) who oriented themselves in the 1960s to the experimental traditions and movements of the Bauhaus and was one of the founders of geometric, concrete and constructivist art.
With his works, Rudolf Kämmer stimulated the perceptual behaviour of the viewer by challenging him to question and influence the work through attentive visual behaviour.
His work concepts (colour reliefs, revolving web paintings, light kinetic objects, tilting flap paintings or linear dot structures) are unique documents of an artist who had a decisive influence on the contemporary art movements of the 1960s.
The present work is highly representative of the artist’s sophisticated oeuvre and invites us to activate our own sensory perceptions.

- Franz Mörscher, still life 1953, oil on canvasBy Franz MörscherLocated in Saarbrücken, SLFranz Mörscher The composition of the painting is deliberately designed for reduction and corresponds to the idea of cultural minimalism and the new objectivity that developed in the 20th century. Mörscher chooses the rational, crystalline form of the representation of selected objects (vases, lemon, fruits?) and uses color as surface and line to create structure in the space. In this composition, Mörscher reduces the classical means of perspective to create a pictorial space between object light and color. The application of paint appears partially modeled. The natural crack and fissure network (Krakelee) of the sometimes layered paint application seems to be deliberately achieved. The selection of the depicted objects is possibly also based on symbolic aspects. After the desolation of the war years, the painting speaks of the color world of the spirit of optimism of the 1950s. W 63 x H 50 Measures with frame: W 71 x H 58 Biography Franz Mörscher was born on November 7th, 1931 in Bundenbach and died on July 14th, 2018 in Neunkirchen (Saar). Besides the sculptor Hubert Nietsch, he was the second artist to set a monument to the miner’s cow in public space in Germany from 1993 to 1995. Franz Mörscher studied from 1951 at the School of Arts and Crafts Saarbrücken with Boris Kleint among others in the subjects of painting and sculpture. During his studies he met the photographer Otto Steinert...Category

- Omar Ananias Acrylic On CanvasLocated in West Palm Beach, USBIO The career of Peruvian-Palestinian artist Omar Ananias: Ananias's artistic career began with sculpture and drawing under the guidance of his mother as his principal mentor, following in the footsteps of his family's long tradition of opera singers, musicians, classical dancers, painters, writers, and other artists. She owns "The House of Nymphs," an exquisite oceanfront artist retreat in Peru with a very unique private collection of artists, including friends, relatives, and Omar's earliest works. Omar has also trained as a professional contemporary dancer and a yoga/mindfulness teacher since he was fifteen years old and, as a result, sought accreditation as an art therapist. His work with sexual workers, the disabled, indigenous populations living in the Amazon Rainforest, prisons, and orphanages has brought him well-known recognition. He has worked for more than 20 years with various governments and organizations all over the world. Techniques and inspiration used by Ananias: His artwork has drawn inspiration from various sources including: the natural world, his personal encounters with marginalized communities, and the indigenous knowledge of the rain forest. Additional inspiration is drawn from Kris Gebhardt, Viviana Quea, Gam Klutier, Hideaki Yamanobe, and Carola Kastman. Omar Ananias's love of the natural world also inspires him to create landscape designs and live plant sculptures made of clay, glass, and wood, in addition to his digital portraits and mixed-media abstract paintings on canvas. He uses many self-made and unconventional instruments/materials for his paintings such as condor feathers, Peruvian gold...Category
