One with the numbering of the painting and the other with the author's data. Luis García-Ochoa was a painter and graphic artist who became a Fine Arts academic in Madrid. He moved to the capital as a child, and worked in his father's architecture studio, training there in avant-garde art. Enrolled in the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he furthered his training in France, Italy and England. Around 1942, thanks to Benjamín Palencia, he participated in the second Vallecas School, a group that served as the basis for the Madrid School. At this time his style evolved from an initial cubism to expressionism. He was invited to the Venice Biennale on several occasions (1940, 1950, 1952 and 1954), he participated in several National Exhibitions of Fine Arts in Madrid, in group shows and individual exhibitions, etc. In 1993 he founded the School of Figurative Painters of El Escorial. His work is preserved in several private collections and in institutions such as the Reina Sofía Art Center, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, etc.
