Alfred Fontville de Breanski Jr. (28 August 1877 – 17 April 1957) was a British painter.
Born in London, he was the son of Alfred de Breanski and Annie Roberts, both of whom were also painters. He learnt his craft from his parents and at St. Martin’s School of Art, and met and became acquainted with Whistler during his time in France. He often worked in a similar style to his father, though they each have distinctive signatures. His paintings were exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Royal Society of British Artists. He generally painted natural landscape and rustic scenes, showing the influence of Impressionism in his later life.
He died in Tonbridge, Kent, in 1957.

Alfred de Breanski Jnr.
Alfred de Breanski, Jr is the son of renowned plein art landscape artist Alfred de Breanski, Sr, and began his career painting the Highlands of Scotland and scenes in England and Wales. Unlike the romantic realism of his father, Breanski, Jr ventured into a style of his own, influenced by the changing impressionistic and post impressionistic art of his time. His colors are more vibrant, and he chooses seascapes as well as landscapes with impressionistic pastels and light with often realistic foreground subjects. Alfred de Breanski, Jr, also known as Alfred Fontville de Breanski, studied at St Martin's School of Art, with his father and his Uncle Gustav, and painter of seascapes. His mother, Annie Roberts, was also a painter. De Breanski, Jnr spent time in France, where he developed his own style of landscape art distinctive from his father. Alfred Sr and his brother Gustav were sons of Polish immigrants into Britain, and established themselves as well known and sought after fine artists. They were known for travelling to the Highlands of Scotland, as well as Wales and the woodlands north of London to find their ideal landscape, and to paint in the open air, to capture the fleeting light in realistic detail. Alfred de Breanski, Jr followed this tradition, with more vivid greens, and with a flair all his own.

View All"A Hazy Morning on the Welsh Hills" by Benjamin Williams Leader
By Benjamin Williams Leader
Located in Wiscasset, ME
Oil on artist panel, signed and dated lower left. It measures 19.75" x 22.75" including the frame, which is likely the original.
Benjamin Williams Leader RA (12 March 1831 – 22 March 1923) was an English landscape painter.
The inspiration for these early works was the countryside around Worcester itself, "the cottages, farmhouses, lanes, hedgerows and churches, so exceedingly picturesque and beautiful". However, Leader did not finish his course of studies at the R. A, nor did he need to – his paintings proved to be in great demand by wealthy buyers and he achieved an enviable degree of commercial success within only a few years of his first sale.
In 1857 he changed his name to Benjamin Williams Leader to distinguish himself from the many other painters with the surname Williams. In autumn of that year he travelled to Scotland, and painted A Quiet pool in Glen Falloch...

"Conway Bay Low Water" by Benjamin Williams Leader
By Benjamin Williams Leader
Located in Wiscasset, ME
Oil on panel, signed and dated 1894 in the lower left and inscribed on the reverse. The frame measures 15.25" x 19.25".
Leader was born in Worcester as Benjamin Leader Williams, the son, and first child of eleven children, of notable civil engineer Edward Leader Williams (1802–79) and Sarah Whiting (1801–88). His father was described as a "non conformist dissenter" and his mother was a Quaker – their marriage in an Anglican church resulted in them being disowned by the Society of friends.
Leader's father was a keen amateur artist – a friend of John Constable – and Benjamin would often accompany him on sketching trips along the banks of the River Severn. His brother, also Edward Leader Williams, later became a notable civil engineer who was knighted for his work, and is now mainly remembered for designing Manchester ship canal...

Charles Stuart "Their Mountain Home" Oil on Canvas, Signed, 1895-1897
Located in New York, NY
Charles Stuart (British 1838-1907) "Their Mountain Home" from 1895-1897 is on oil on canvas and is signed as well as dated. This gorgeous highland landscape depicts a stag herd retreating down the mountain from the impending mists. Stuart captures the swirling movement and material quality of the fog, which obscures the towering mountains adding an element of mystery and magic to the painting. In juxtaposition, the foreground of the painting is rendered in precise detail from the rippling tides to the leaves of grass. Each stag is differentiated adding an element of naturalism.
Charles Stuart, F. S. A. was a landscape painter active from 1881 to 1904. Born to a long line of painters, Stuart exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Academy. He was a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London, and the prestigious Savage Club whose members included Charles Dickens. He was married to Jane Maria Bowkett...
