Vintage Framed Oil Painting on Panel by Dieudonne Damoiseaux (1918-2000) is a charming work depicting the hay harvest. Two steadfast steeds stand ready to draw the impressively full cart that thanks to its cargo of hay is not terribly heavy. A group of farmers gather around the cart as the last bit of hay is tossed to the top, ready to take a short break before beginning the task anew on the next empty cart. Such works glorify the rigors versus the pleasures of rural life, and the simple pleasures that such an existence can bring.
