(Modena, Italy - December 9, 1933) is an Italian photographer, photojournalist and writer.
He began photographing in 1961. A frequent photographer at the "Fotoclub", his activity is mainly amateur, even though he carries out aesthetic research on various themes. Very important will be those dedicated to the abstract expression of color, carried out in a period in which abstract art in photography was to be found exclusively in black and white.
In 1963 he exhibited at the Third International Biennial of Color in Vienna; the year after Popular Photography publishes, for the first time, a portfolio with text by Piero Racanicchi. He held his first solo exhibitions in 1965 in Turin (Subalpina photographic society) and in 1968 in Modena (Galleria della Sala di Cultura). The exhibition in his hometown marks a turning point in his research.
Its complex activity and the international importance of its production can be summarized in some figures. Over 70 books have been dedicated to him, published by Italian, French, German, Swiss, Spanish, American and Japanese publishers; he has exhibited in public museums and private galleries around the world - over 400 personal and group exhibitions he has held so far.

André Kertész (1894-1985)
Kertesz as a Hungarian-born photographer distinguished by haunting composition in his photographs and by his early efforts in developing the photo essay. In his lifetime, however, his then-unorthodox camera angles, which hindered prose descriptions of his works, prevented his work from gaining wider recognition, as well as his use of symbolism also became unfashionable later in his life.
Born in Budapest, the son of a bookseller, Kertész taught himself how to use a camera and had his first photos published while a member of the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I. Even as early as 1914, his distinctive and mature style was already evident.
Kertész emigrated to Paris in 1925, changed his first name from Andor, and became acquainted with members of the Dada movement. One of them dubbed him “Brother Seeing Eye”, an allusion to a medieval monastery where all the monks were blind except one. Bonnie Edelman was born in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College on an academic and athletic scholarship. Fashion was an all encompassing self expression so it was because of this idea of materializing thoughts, desires and inspirations that she decided to devote her career to the editorial side of the fashion industry.
After an internship at Rolling Stone Magazine and then formally starting her career as the assistant to the Fashion Director at Seventeen Magazine, Bonnie moved through the ranks at Glamour Magazine and MTV. She then settled into the position of Travel Editor at Sports Illustrated, where she navigated the world producing exotic and inspiring photo shoots for the magazine’s annual Swimsuit Issue. Amassed by the renowned husband-and-wife team of Helmut and Alison Gernsheim between 1945 and 1963, it contains an unparalleled range of images, beginning with the world's earliest-known photograph from nature, made by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce in 1826. It includes some 35,000 major and representative photographs from the 19th and 20th c; a research library of some 3,600 books, journals, and published articles; about 250 autographed letters and manuscripts; and more than 200 pieces of early photographic equipment. Its encyclopedic scope—as well as the expertise and taste with which the Gernsheims built the collection—makes the Gernsheim Collection one of the world's premier resources for the study and appreciation of the development of photography.
Published to coincide with a landmark exhibition staged by the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin, which owns the collection, this book presents masterpieces of the collection, along with lesser-known images of great historical significance.
