About the Item
A wonderful poster printed by Verga Printers Milano, this advertisement poster for Michelin tyres was created in 1959 and depicts Michelin mascot Bibendum aka the Michelin Man pushing a bicycle of the era with the text"Pneumatici Velo" or Bicycle Tyres, beneath.
Bibendum was created by Marius Rossillon "O'Galop" in 1894, and through many series of extremely successful and influential advertisements and posters, has grown to be one of the most recognisable trademarks in the world, representing Michelin in over 150 countries.
This beautiful and incredibly rare piece is in mint condition, backed on museum quality linen for conservation for the decades to come.
