About the Item
This stunning and rare poster for British Railways was created in 1960 to promote their routes to Weston-Super-Mare in Somerset, England. With artwork by Harry Arthur Riley (1895-1966) depicting a happy mother and daughter walking up from the Weston seafront on a beautiful summers day, this never folded piece is a great throwback to the midcentury British holiday.
This poster was published by British Railways (Western Region) and printed in Great Britain by Waterlow & Sons Limited.
Printed in Great Britain by Waterlow & Sons Limited, London and Dunstable. The artist Harry Riley was best known for his work for British Railways, BOAC and Quantas, in a reknowned career in commerical art.
