About the Item
Celebrating a decade of Dior’s work between 1947-57, this stunning poster from the 1987 exhibition in Paris features artwork from the incredible poster artist Rene Gruau. Well known for his many collaborations with Dior, Gruau is also best known for works for Moulin Rouge and the Lido.
The exhibition celebrated Christian Dior’s most productive and impressive decade of work, ending with his untimely and sudden death in 1957 aged just 52. These 10 years saw Dior become one of the world’s top fashion houses, and also saw him train and name a young Yves Saint Laurent as his successor.
This beautiful piece with painted design is a beautiful example of art meeting advertisement, it is in mint condition and backed on museum-quality linen to ensure its preservation for the years to come.
