The Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL), founded in 1872, is a French company of Belgian origin specializing in railway services. It offers services such as railway hospitality, onboard and onshore dining.
Jean Colin was a French poster artist who gained international acclaim for his work in designing advertising and artistic posters. Colin was particularly active in the 1950s and 1960s. He created numerous posters for businesses, cultural events, public institutions, and transportation companies. Jean Colin
Jean Colin was born in Paris in 1912. As a young adult, he discovered his love for drawing and art and eventually took part in various exhibitions such as the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs of 1947. In 1949, he traveled to Basel and joined a group of graphic designers, this decision would lead to the creation of the 'Alliance Graphique Internationale' in Paris in 1952. Colin worked hard as a young graphic artist, designing over three hundred posters and countless awards. He stands today as one of the most popular French poster designers.
