Additional Details:
The SS Rotterdam is a Dutch transatlantic liner launched in 1958 for the Holland America Line. Nicknamed "The Queen of the Seas," it operated between Europe and North America before becoming a cruise ship.
Eppo Doeve was a painter, illustrator, and poster artist born in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), who worked mainly in the Netherlands. He is best known for his advertising posters, newspaper illustrations, and comic strips.
The background of the poster symbolizes the sea on one side and the starry sky on the other. A globe appears in the background, while the SS Rotterdam seems to cut through the waves.
