About the Item

Poster for Edward Gorey’s “The Gashleycrumb Tinies” published and distributed by Harvey Hutter & Co in 1979 and measuring 21” x 36”. Signed upper right in marker pen by Gorey. An alphabet book first published in 1963 as part of the series The Vinegar Works, The Gashleycrumb Tinies tells the tale of 26 children—one for each letter of the alphabet—and their untimely fates. The book stands as one of Gorey’s best-known and most notorious works. The present item was found still rolled up in its original shrink wrap; Gorey had peeled back an edge to sign it. It was photographed flat in a mylar protective sleeve and so there are some reflections present in the images that are not on the poster. Item will ship rolled up sans the mylar sleeve. Clean and bright overall condition befitting the state it was found in. Scarce thus.
