Colours are fresh and there are no or very few paper losses. If there are imperfections they are marginal and imperceptible). Additional Details: This theater poster was designed by French painter and illustrator René Gaillard for Louis Gouriadec's five-act play, La Splendide, titled Cocaine. Although cocaine was legal in Paris at the time, the dark and decadent images it shows do not seek to glorify drugs. Gaillard lived and worked in Montmartre, Paris, and portrayed some of the city's most famous landmarks on this poster (the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré Coeur). A green winged monster stands between these buildings, an emaciated woman in a red dress appears in the center of the poster, she is looking at several men, including a jazz musician playing the saxophone.
