Original Vintage Poster Pin Up Lady Telephone Hat George Petty Girls Model Nude

About the Item

Original vintage poster featuring an illustration by the notable American pin-up artist George Brown Petty IV (1894-1975) depicting a lady in a sheer body suit holding a sketch of a telephone, sitting on the ground and smiling at the viewer. George Petty's pinup art was featured in men's magazines including Esquire and True as well as in calendars; his Esquire gatefolds led to the popularity of centerfold spreads; his work was copied by World War Two military artists for nose art decorating warplanes including the famous Memphis Belle, which became known as Petty Girls. Very good condition, minor creasing, minor staining.

The company is developing thanks in particular to the development of the railway, which allows for distant supplies and expeditions. In the 1920s, the firm Mossant is at its peak. The factory employs 1,200 workers and produces up to 2000 hats per day, nearly half of which is in the United States. After 1929, the economic crisis affected exports and the company diversified its production of felt (bags, berets, ...).
