Original vintage sport poster published by the Levi Strauss clothing brand (founded 1853) for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games featuring dynamic artwork depicting a skier in red, white and blue skiing at speed with the white spray of snow lit up over the map of North America highlighted on a globe above small silhouettes of a ski jumper leading to a skier with arms outstretched to wings, the Levi's logo and stylised title text in the margin below. One of a series of six posters commissioned by the blue jeans manufacturer Levi's as official sponsors of the US team for the 1980 Olympic Games; this Levi's Olympic Opportunity Sweepstakes campaign emphasised a sport associated with each of the six continents competing in the event - Skiing (North America), Gymnastics (Asia), Swimming (Australia), Track & Field (Africa), Soccer (South America), Cycling (Europe) - but the posters were withdrawn following the decision by US President Carter to boycott the Olympics in protest after the USSR invaded Afghanistan in December 1979. Excellent condition.
