Original vintage railway travel poster for Brussels Travelling In Belgium By Rail / Bruxelles Voyagez En Belgique en Chemin De Fer featuring stunning artwork by the notable artist Fred Taylor (1875-1963) of a ceremonial parade (possibly the annual Ommegang of Brussels festival) in the Grand Place / Groote Markt town square with the procession of men in uniform led by a person on a horse in the centre, a drummer on the side and flags flying on the House of the Dukes of Brabant building adorned with flags in the background. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses, restored pinholes, staining, backed on linen.

Fred Taylor
Fred Taylor was one of Britain's leading poster artists between 1908 and the 1940s and is best known for his architectural posters. A Londoner, he studied in Paris at the Académie Julian and at Goldsmiths College, where he was awarded a gold medal for posters. A member of The Art Workers' Guild from 1924, Taylor designed many posters for the railway and shipping companies, as well as for the Empire Marketing Board. A regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy, he served during World War II as a naval caumofleur.
