Original vintage travel advertising poster published by London Transport promoting Greensted by Green Line Coach W from Liverpool Street Eldon Street to Ongar via Dalston Clapton Leyton Walthamstow Chingford Daily every 30 minutes 3/- return. Colourful countryside painting by the British poster designer and artist Clive Gardiner (Alfred Clive Gardiner; 1891-1960) depicting the historic 9th century Greensted Church in Essex surrounded by trees with the bold text in stylised letters and the London Transport roundel logo below. With its oak wood nave dating back to 845 AD to1053, Greensted Church (The Church of St Andrew, Greensted-juxta-Ongar) claims to be the oldest wooden church in the world and the oldest wooden building in Europe. Printed by The Baynard Press. Acceptable condition, staining, restored paper losses, restored tears, restored folds, restored pinholes, backed on linen.
