About the Item
Original vintage travel poster for Royal Mail Line Atlantis Cruises featuring a stunning scenic view by the British poster designer, Percy Padden (1886-1965) depicting a cruise boat on a lake with silver birch trees in the foreground and green hills on the other side of the calm reflective water, snow topped rocky mountains on the horizon and the text on the border below. Royal Mail Lines (1932-1965) was a leading cruise ship operator created to take over The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company (founded 1839); in 1965 it was taken over by a British transport operator, Furness Withy & Company (1891-1980). Printed by Sanders Phillips and Co Ltd, The Baynard Press. Good condition, restored tears, staining, restored folds, restored creasing, backed on linen.
