The Stranglers Original Vintage Concert Poster, Bataclan, Paris, 1978
About the Item
A rare original concert poster for a performance by British rock band the Stranglers at the famous Bataclan theatre in Paris on Friday 6 October 1978. Screenprinted in vivid red and black, the simple yet striking design features the band's signature silhouetted rat motif, first seen on the back cover of their 1977 debut album 'Rattus Norvegicus'. By the time of this Bataclan gig in October 1978, the band had already released two successful follow up albums 'No More Heroes' and 'Black and White', with singles such as 'Peaches', 'Something Better Change' and 'No More Heroes' becoming instant punk classics. With a career spanning five decades, the Stranglers are one of the longest-surviving bands to have originated in the UK punk scene. Printed in France by IPA, Champigny.

Kraftwerk Original Vintage UK Concert Poster, Yeovil, 1975
Located in Devon, GB
A rare silkscreen concert poster for one of the first UK performances by German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk at Johnson Hall in Yeovil, England, on Thursday 18th September 1975, with support from Somerset folk singer A.J. Webber. Formed as a duo in Düsseldorf in 1969 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, Kraftwerk had expanded to what is now regarded to be their classic quartet line-up by 1975, with the addition of Wolfgang Flür and Karl Bartos. Following the breakthrough international success of their fourth studio album 'Autobahn' and its hypnotic 22-minute title track, the foursome embarked on their first international tour to Canada and the US, before ending the tour in the UK from 5th - 20th September. Appearing on stage in matching suits...

'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' Original Vintage Movie Poster, Czech, 1978
Located in Devon, GB
A fantastically bizarre poster by Jan Weber for the first Czech release of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Although Western films were shown during the Soviet era in the Communist Bloc, American publicity materials were banned, allowing the state-commissioned artists to operate with total creative freedom from the demands of the big Hollywood studios, offering quirky and sometimes surreal interpretations which often had little reference to the film. Weber's intense halftone design featuring a triplicate of manic Jack Nicholson faces is presumably a nod to insanity and multiple personality disorders. Based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Ken Kesey...
