Compilation of Two Hand-Colored Woodcut Engravings by W. Barraud - 19th Century Depictions of an English Hunter with Horse and Dogs This beautiful compilation features two hand-colored woodcut engravings by the artist W. Barraud, depicting idyllic scenes from rural England. In the first engraving, a saddled white horse stands alone beside a stone wall, surrounded by lush greenery. The second image expands the scene to include an English hunter dressed in countryside attire, accompanied by his loyal greyhound and whippet, with a freshly caught hare in hand. Both engravings capture the essence of rural hunting life in the 19th century, showcasing a nostalgic and pastoral view of English countryside traditions.
