The print was drawn by the acclaimed Dutch artist Cornelis Springer, lithographed by T. Fontaine, and published by the respected firm Frans Buffa & Zonen in Amsterdam. The scene depicts the impressive naval arsenal building—constructed between 1655 and 1656 by architect Daniël Stalpaert—as seen from across the water, with a serene sky, sailing ships, and rowboats animating the foreground.
