Barbara Ernest Prey "Old School" Lithographic Print
About the Item
A world renowned painter, Barbara Ernest Prey created the largest known watercolor painting (8 x 15 feet) for MASS MoCA, while her work can be found in the National Gallery of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the New York Historical Society, Kennedy Space Center and the permanent collection of the White House.
"Old School" is a print of her watercolor painting of the same name depicting four dinghies (small boats) floating in a body of beautiful blue water. The undulating water and reflection of the boats on the surface are executed so perfectly as to give the image a strong feeling of motion. Both cozy and familiar but with a hint of solitude and isolation.
In very good condition with a few marks around the edges of the print. (See photos.) This is number 103 in an edition of 200 and is signed and number in pencil by the artist.
