These two engravings by Claude Randon, dated between 1674 and 1704, depict a centaur with a cherub riding on its back. Left Engraving: - Title: Centauro con Amore in Groppa che lo tiene legato - Description: This engraving portrays a powerful centaur with a muscular human upper body and a robust horse lower body. A cherub, possibly representing Cupid, is riding on the centaur’s back. The cherub is depicted with wings and is holding onto the centaur, who looks back at him. The interaction between the two figures suggests a dynamic relationship, where the cherub appears to be guiding or controlling the centaur. 2. Right Engraving: - **Title:** La Stessa Statua in altra veduta - **Description:** This engraving shows the same scene but from a different perspective. The centaur is depicted from the back, emphasizing the muscular details of its body and the dynamic stance of its legs. The cherub is still holding onto the centaur, with one hand raised as if gesturing or communicating with the centaur.
