This 1969 etching captures his medieval history of characters with the figural surrealism of movement. A great piece of art for any collector from traditional to contemporary.

Pompa is a true Italian treasure known for this surreal figurative work.
He was an artist intrinsically Roman but of ancient Rome.
In fact the Roman world is more one of decadence crossed with barbarians and emperors. Half of his inspiration is also German-Roman but without any relationship with the ecstatic classicism of the Nazarenes or the symbolism of the German Romans.
Pompa began exhibiting with a solo show at the Obelisk Gallery in Rome, it continued with exhibitions held in Monaco, Dusseldorf, New York, Chicago, Naples, Hamburg, Venice, Milan and Cologne. Between national and international exhibitions in which he participated, he attended the Quadrennial of Rome, the Paris Biennale, the Biennale of Krakow and the International Biennale for the bronze statue of Padua.
He has works now in the Vatican Museum as well as other prestigious museums like the Museums of Modern Art in Genoa, New York, Indianapolis, Toronto and many private collections world wide.
