Pair of 18th Century Italian Spolvero Print on Canvas with Fragments & Quartz

About the Item

A pair of 18th century Italian spolvero patterns printed onto canvas and adorned with 18th century Italian fragments and red fanthom quarts points. Spolvero is an early method used in Italy of transferring a design from a cartoon to the prepared surface of a canvas, panel, or fresco. These two pair of historic spolvero prints are placed onto the canvas and are framed on top with the 18th century Italian fragments and red crystal quartz points. The pair is put together by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The date of manufacture reflects when she put together the pair and the period shows that the Italian spolvero prints and wooden fragments are originally 18th century. The pair creates a historically significant yet contemporary pair of old and new to grace any wall or space.
