About the Item

This sublime etching by the swedish graphic artist Bengt Böckman portrays human construction interacting with organic structures. This vintage etching from 1966 is made with dark blue and black color. The frame is original and is covered with gold leaf. There is a sticker from the original art exhibition in 1966 on the backside. Bengt Böckman’s suite of black and white etchings from 1965-1969 with the overall title Project 666 belongs to Swedish art history. With their science fiction-like architectural constructions - in the mood a cross between Piranesi and Palle Nielsen - they are expressions of both mysterious enigmaticness and imminent threat.
