Created by the talented artist Wilhelm von Wright and published by P. A. Norstedt & Söners Förlag in Stockholm, this plate masterfully combines scientific precision with artistic elegance.
The uppermost fish is the Bleak (Alburnus lucidus), characterized by its slender, streamlined body and shimmering silver scales. Known for its agile swimming and vibrant appearance, the Bleak is commonly found in rivers and lakes throughout northern Europe.
The central and lower fish are the Asp (Aspius rapax), displaying a more robust, muscular build with a distinct silvery-gray hue.
