Artist Georges Braque 1882-1963, etching and aquatint Le Nid Vert (The Green Nest) M.1028 on Rives BFK paper, circa 1950. Signed and dated to lower edge 'G. Braque 157/300'. This work is number 157 from the edition of 300 printed by Atelier Grommelynck, Paris and published by Maeght, Paris. This work is part of a series of lithographs and etchings that were based upon Braque's original watercolors, gouaches and paintings. Braque was very involved in the printing process, overseeing either the engraver or lithographer,
correcting the proofs when necessary. In original gold leaf and black edge frame with wear, not examined out of frame, no damage or foxing seen through glass. Frame is 20.5" W x 16" H x 1.38" D, art is 8¾ H × 12¼ W in.
