Lakwena Maciver (British, b. 1986) is an internationally acclaimed contemporary artist known for her kaleidoscopic palette, dynamic geometry, and uplifting text-based compositions. Drawing from her background in graphic design, her work fuses spiritual messaging, Afro-diasporic references, and urban visual culture. Her murals and installations appear in public spaces around the world, from London’s Tate Britain to Los Angeles’ NFL Super Bowl and New York’s Bowery Wall.
Lakwena’s work has been exhibited at institutions including the British Museum, Somerset House, Hastings Contemporary, and the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco.
