Two Antique Prints Related to Wine; Production and Drinking, 19th Century

About the Item

Two antique prints related to wine. One uncoloured woodcut engraving with title:'wijnbereiding' (English: The Production of Wine) from a Dutch publication about wine production. Verso plus extra joined leave with text in Dutch. Condition: Good and overal clean image. Outside the image brown spots. PLUS: One Antique Handcolored Aquatint print of three man and a woman enjoying a long pipe and a drink. Title: 'The Cellar Quartetto'. This antique aquatint in original colours was drawn by Thomas Rowlandson (1756-1827). Published in one of the three 'Tours' of Dr Syntax this being 'In Search of the Picturesque' circa 1818. Dr Syntax was Rowlandson's creation a bumbling but lovable curate who undertakes three tours around the country and falls into all sorts of situations en route. Condition: Fair. Brownish due to handling and age. A few white spots in the left corner.
