19th Century Persian Kerman Termeh Silk Embroidery Suzani – Red, Blue, Ivory
About the Item
An exquisite mid-19th century hand-embroidered Termeh Suzani textile from Kerman, one of Persia’s oldest and most culturally rich cities. This elegant piece, dating to circa 1850, is a fine example of traditional Persian needlework, known as Termeh embroidery. It features intricate silk thread work in shades of blue, purple, yellow, and brown, skillfully embroidered on a rich red fabric background.
Originally used in Persian households as a ceremonial or decorative table cover, this antique textile has been beautifully preserved and remains vibrant in color and texture. Today, it serves equally well as a tapestry or wall hanging—particularly in sophisticated interiors that value cultural heritage, textile art, and handcrafted detail.
This museum-quality suzani is a rare collector’s item and an elegant choice for those seeking to incorporate historical richness and warmth into contemporary or traditional spaces.
