About the Item

This wall hanging is a one of a kind heirloom piece. Taking inspiration from brutalism, mid-century abstraction, and Joseph Albers studies on the interaction of color. The entire process of creating this wall hanging was done in the artist's Brooklyn studio. Each work produced by the artist is a bespoke heirloom piece. The tapestry is woven with traditional Kilim techniques, using interlocking yarn to add strength and stability, but also add texture and structure to the lines. As a handmade work, the tapestry exhibits variations and imperfections, representing the true nature of the materials and techniques. Note: The color tones and hues will vary depending on whether your space is lit with fluorescent, incandescent or natural light. These photos were taken in bright, studio lighting and try to emulate what the rug will look like in bright indirect sunlight. Measures: Approximate 31" x 40" with a 3.5"" cotton fringe at the bottom and a cotton hem at the top which can fit a rod with a less than 0.5" diameter. (rod not included)
