About the Item
Absolutely rare kitsch and wonderful design, Italy of the 60s.
Tapestry in chenille or crushed velvet, in natural white/light honey color, pink, reds, greens, dark yellow and orange.
The putti are so sweet and are entwined with roses, scarves, branches... it's all very baroque!
As the story goes, this is an Italian tradition: ... the groom sends this blanket to the bride before the marriage. Thus the anecdote! here in the mid-century version in bright colours.
Simply rare, wonderful, very good vintage condition.
The outer material/weave is synthetic fibre, the backing fabric is cotton or a cotton blend.
