Early 17th Century Flemish Tapestry Panel Depicting Mercury

About the Item

A very fine tapestry panel, originally part of the top section of a border, depicting at its center the head of Mercury, the Roman God of Commerce. The winged head is flanked by a pair of serpents and by an array of fruits, in a manner similar to Flemish still life paintings.
