A fine large French Aubusson style tapestry from the 19th century, featuring a scene with two hunters, one aiming a crossbow and another holding a horn, alongside hunting dogs in pursuit of a white bird. A house or chateau is visible in the background amidst rolling hills and trees.
The tapestry is framed by an ornate foliate border in the Aubusson manner - this style having its origins in the Aubusson region of France, which received a royal charter for its tapestry factories in 1665.
