About the Item
Beautiful flat-weave tapestry by Swedish artist Maria Hillfon, handwoven with wool on linen. Orange, green, purple and black. Maria Hillfon has embodied the horizon for over forty years. This tapestry is in a excellent vintage condition with no fading or structural damage.
The dimensions includes the fringes.
Maria Hillfon Is a Swedish graphic artist, painter and textile artist. Hillfon grew up in an artist family and was the daughter of the architect Gösta Hillfon and the ceramicist Hertha Hillfon and the sister of the artist Curt Hillfon.
Maria Hillfon studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm 1965–1971 and has had exhibitions at Galleri Glas in Stockholm, Landskrona Art Gallery, Ystad Art Museum in Sweden and abroad in Mexico, Norway and Austria.
One of her public works is the choir window in Mälarhöjden's church and decorations in the National Museum.
