Edition 1/3 - for 150 years, Pinton has been making exceptional tapestries, creating contemporary incarnations of the traditional art of Aubusson tapestry making. Models are created to order and are the work of designers and artists. Materials, dimensions and colors can be entirely adapted to the artist’s vision. The tapestries, true works of art created by Pinton Editions are original works produced in very limited quantities by 20th and 21st century artists. They are destined to the art market, for collectors, institutions and art lovers as well as architects, market influencers and high-end luxury interior designers. The most exceptional and prestigious tapestries have been made on the “basse-lisse” looms of the PINTON workshops since 1867 - including the largest tapestry in the world, “Christ in Glory”, hung in Coventry Cathedral. Having worked with some of the most renowed artists of the 20th century (Pablo Picasso and Alexander Calder), our expert artisans now collaborate and weave for today’s designers and artists (Etel Adnan, Maggi Hambling, Joe Tilson).The traditional expertise of Aubusson is and always has been focused on modernity, innovation and the imagination of the designers. Some of the most renowned artists have combined their talent with that of PINTON for the art of weaving. This art is also an industry.
