Mid-Century French Neo-Classical Hand Woven Wall Portieres Tapestries-Set of 3

About the Item

Decorate a living room, or a staircase with this elegant and colorful suite of tall "Portieres". Handwoven in France circa 1970, each 8" feet wall piece features allegoric figures with floral and bird motifs throughout. The detailed, decorative wall hanging tapestries are in excellent condition and are dressed with a canvas backing for stability. The tapestries flaunt a strong color palette including red, green, blue and beige earth tones. Portiere tapestries are tall slim wall-hangings which hung on either side of elegant doors of French chateaux and palaces in past centuries, they are unique in that they are designed to fill narrow wall spaces. Very versatile, they could be hang on both sides of a window or door, in a hallway, or even on top of a landing or staircase! Measures: 35" W x 96" H.
