About the Item
Vintage Aubusson-style tapestry is a celebration of the bounty of the earth, with amazing fruit and floral designs incorporated into the border which surrounds the splendid still life extravaganza at the center of the work. Fair maidens posed as caryatids appear on each side of the border, while a neoclassical urn atop a pedestal is a prominent feature, with a profusion of colorful flowers cascading down to the lower left of the composition. Perfect for adding texture and a splash of muted, yet wonderfully variegated color without adding depth.
